Hello, I’m Sam. I’m amongst the one in 25 men who have experienced sexual assault.
I’m Nicola, among 1 in 5 women who has been sexually assaulted.
Hi, I’m Chisenga. I never thought abuse could happen to me, but it did, and this is my moment to speak out.
We want to tell you about a national project that’s happening right now, that’s raising awareness of abuse and ensuring those whose lives have been affected receive the best care and support possible.
The care and support we receive is so important for recovery, our recovery. If you’re 18 years old and over and you’ve attended a Sexual Assault Referral Centre or a SARC, we’d like to give you the opportunity to use your voice in our project.
Hi, I’m Lorna and I’m leading a group of people with a shared passion for making things better for those affected by abuse. We are researchers from universities across the UK.
We are charities providing counselling and emotional support to those with the lived experiences of sexual assault and sexual abuse. We will be helping to shape how this project unfolds over the next 3 years.
We are NHS staff concerned about offering the best care for our patients’ physical, sexual and mental health.
We are the staff at Sexual Assault Referral Centres. We know we can do even more to help the needs of our service users.
And we are working hard to reach local communities affected by abuse.
We are the people who influence how health and community services are used. Please tell us how we can help you on your recovery journey. We are listening to you.
We want to give you an opportunity to join 1500 across the country. Being involved means you can speak to me or a member of my team about what’s important to you.
This team have asked me to work with them to try and make sure it is a positive experience for everyone.
And we’re ready to get behind them.
And we’re doing our part to ensure that your experience as a research participant, if you decide to join us on our project, is as positive as possible.
If you’d like to be involved, please let a member of your support team know or you can contact us directly. You can get in touch with us by email or you can visit our website.
Together we can make a difference. Are you willing to join a thousand voices for change?
